As a breathwork coach, I’ve led sessions in various settings—from tranquil shalas to the high-energy CrossFit gyms. Yet, one of the most unique and refreshing experiences I’ve had is leading breathwork at a coworking space in Siargao Island. Located on a hill just outside the tourism town of General Luna, CocoSpace offers an ideal setting for the growing digital nomad community in Siargao.
The space hums with productivity—laptops clicking, coffee and soft conversations brewing. It might not seem like the typical place for breathwork, but that’s what makes it special. The serene hilltop setting, with panoramic island views, provides a peaceful backdrop that enhances the practice.
I guide digital nomads through breathwork techniques to clear mental clutter and enhance concentration. Simple practices like box breathing or alternate nostril breathing can be easily integrated into their workday, effectively resetting the mind, reducing stress, and improving focus.
Breathwork isn’t confined to specific settings; it’s a versatile practice anyone can do, anywhere. CocoSpace, with its hilltop serenity and vibrant coworking community, has easily become one of my favorite spots for these sessions. It’s a place where breathwork meets the modern demands of digital nomads like myself. The fresh air and breathtaking views are a bonus, reminding us of the beauty of taking a moment to breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves.
Through these sessions, I aim to show that mindfulness practices can be adapted to any environment. It’s a testament to the versatility of the practice and its benefits in achieving focus. You don’t need to be sitting in a mat in a quiet shala to maintain mental clarityYou can easily carve out a few minutes of your workday for breathwork, even if you’re just at your desk.
Next time you find yourself overwhelmed with tasks, take a deep breath and remember that focus is just a few breaths away.
